This long piece is the Wall Street Journal take on the upcoming crisis of space within the higher education institutions in New York City. It reports from a more numerical and financial perspective than the pieces in the Times.
Related is a piece about a roundtable discussion held by the local college presidents about these challenges, over half of whom are from CUNY. It points towards the tendency of the Times in this era to directly quote and report on what people are saying rather than zooming out and providing context. While those pieces do exist, they are less common than this “straight reporting.”
