Piece from a leftist publication in the immediate aftermath of 9/11. It reports that undocumented students were expelled from CUNY, and professors were maligned for an anti-war teach in. Described as an outright attack on public education in NYC, the piece also mentions that the NEH was subject to similar attacks. It’s the first piece by an outright leftist publication that I have found.

While it’s not part of the mainstream reporting that I am hoping to capture via this timeline, I think it is interesting to compare this with those more mainstream reports.
